Antique Bloodstone & Carnelian Spinner Fob
Here is a fantastic antique Edwardian/Late Victorian men’s fob pendant featuring a clever spinning mechanism with a beveled bloodstone on one side and carnelian on the other. The bloodstone on this fob is a very dark color, almost black! The rectangular stones measure approximately 18mm by 14mm and are bezel set in fully hallmarked 9k yellow gold. Dating to the turn of the century, this piece measures about 25mm tall by 23.7mm wide, weighing 6.6 grams.
This elegant and functional fob pendant is a fine example of period craftsmanship, with a fully hallmarked base confirming its authenticity. The bloodstone and carnelian stones are over 100 years old and remain in nice condition, complemented by the warm, rosy glow of the gold. The piece shows some age-related surface wear consistent with its history, adding to its antique charm.
