Here is a neat mixed metal antique chatelaine with a small pen knife and a dance card / Aide memoir notepad. The dance card features a faux turquoise cabochon and three celluloid leaves in an arabesque shape. On the other side is a small pen knife with a sliding mechanism. Both the knife and pad are stamped for sterling. The central chatelaine piece features a pair of intertwined serpents with ruby-paste cabochon eyes. They surround a faux turquoise cabochon and below the serpents is a prong set faux turquoise cabochon drop. The center element is unmarked in gold-tone metal with some surface wear. This fantastic little piece of history is ready to wear, collect, or gift to someone special.

Condition report:
This is a lovely antique piece; however, it does have visible age-related wear. The metal has both patina and some surface wear. The pen knife has some wear. There is a loss of the gold tone cooling directly underneath the prong set cabochon that is not noticeable during wear. This piece overall has a very handmade feel and is a beautiful little piece of history.

We chalk it up to character and love it, but it is essential that we fully describe any wear, no matter how minor. Each piece is carefully inspected, tested, and fully described before it lands in the shop.
