Charming and rare early 19th-century Halley’s Comet brooch featuring two sparkling old mine-cut paste gemstones. This antique pin captures the romantic fascination with astronomy sparked by the return of Halley’s Comet in 1835. The design echoes a blazing comet streaking through the sky, with a decorative “tail” and radiating old cut glass center stone—an iconic motif of Georgian and early Victorian sentimental jewelry. This highly collectable little pin will be at home in any antique jewelry collection.

Lovely antique condition with light, age-appropriate wear. Paste stones are bright and securely set. Patina present on gold adds character.

An item must be 100 years old or older to be considered antique. This means many antiques may have age-related wear. We chalk it up to character and love it, but it is essential that we fully describe any wear, no matter how minor. Each piece is carefully inspected, tested, and fully described before it lands in the shop.
