Here is a highly collectible Antique Silver French stickpin featuring a mythical creature. The head of the pin features a magnificent griffin or dragon, possibly a stylized lioness in an Art Nouveau style. The head of the creature is emerging from a scrolling flower, and the pin has beautiful organic openwork details. The head of the pin has a gold wash over a silver base that has worn with age. The pin is hallmarked with the French boars head and a makers mark. This lovely little piece of history would make an excellent addition to any antique jewelry collection.

Hallmark: J*G in Diamond shaped cartouche, French boars head

Late 1800s, early 1900s

 

CONDITION

• Overall, very nice antique condition. As mentioned, the original gold wash has worn a Slight bend in the pin, a lovely art nouveau piece!
