Here is an Authentic and fantastic pair of antique Victorian Jet earrings. These beautiful drop earrings were hand-carved from Jet in the 1800s. This style of Jet is known as Cut and Shaded and features intricate foliate designs with a rosette at the bottom and leaves throughout. The drops are comfortable, lightweight, and easy to wear. The fitting is Gold Filled, and the Earwire is 10k. This lovely pair is ready wear, gift or collect!
 
ABOUT JET
 Popularized by Queen Victoria, Jet was a popular material for mourning jewelry in the Victorian era. The carved torpedo shape features foliate designs and great hand-carved detail. These highly collectible antique earrings are ready to wear or collect. Jet is a minor gemstone related to coal and is a product of the decomposition of wood from many years ago. It feels cool to the touch and is very lightweight in hand. Victorian Jet is highly sought after and was often used in mourning jewelry. These earrings are a fantastic example of Victorian Jet mourning jewelry.

CONDITION
These gorgeous earrings are over 100 years old and do show signs of their age. However, they are wearable and a fantastic collectible statement piece. Because these are hand-carved, the two drops are slightly different from each other. There is a very light age-related fracture on the bottom of one of the earrings that is barely noticeable.  This fantastic pair is ready to collect!
